Born Selena Marie Gomez to Amanda Cornett, who was 16 years old at the time, and Ricardo Gomez in Grand Prairie, Texas, Selena's career began like most entertainment careers, minor roles that hopefully turn into leads. After being dropped from the Barney and Friends show, Selena auditioned for many projects but was offered mostly small roles, including her role in Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003) and her role as Julie on Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire (2005).
