VIDEO: Selena Gomez Channels Britney Spears

If this video of Selena Gomez singing “Baby One More Time” during a Spring Breakers interview is ANY indication of what the movie will be like, it’s going to be SUCH a hot mess.
In the Spring Breakers trailer, Selena, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens and that fourth chick Rachel Korine sing the chorus of Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” very badly.
During a panel discussion for their film at SXSW, which is a film and music festival in Austin, TX, the audience coaxed them into singing a bit of the song. Of course they fake protested like, “Omg we can’t sing! I’m not even warmed up! Uhh, I don’t know ANY of the words!”
Then, in a totally unplanned stunt, the lyrics started scrolling on-screen a la karaoke style while the music played.

Selena grabbed the mic and with NO HELP from Rachel or Ashley busted out almost all of the vintage Britney hit.
Not gonna lie, Selena is actually a good singer. We knew she was a “singer” but we thought she was a “singer” in the way Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift can “sing,” you know, like, bad.
Britney Spears herself saw the video and loved it.

“Awww @selenagomez can duet with me anytime. PS – I heard @springbreakers is AAA_MAZING! Can’t wait to see it!” Britney tweeted.
