Okay, so it wasn't technically a dead body, but it might as well have been, because what one Nashville resident unearthed was horrifying: a corpse of unread Taylor Swift fan mail.
Kylee Francescon, the woman who found the sparkly letters (or "evidence" as it will be referred to in the destined Baby-sitter's Club book), put them in a box and took them straight to the local news for further investigation.
"There were like hundreds of letters in there to Taylor Swift and I'm like, 'Oh my gosh!' Kylee says. "I didn't know if they were stolen [or] discarded, so I threw them in a box. And I'm like, 'Somebody needs to let Taylor know.'" Kylee thinks she's a real-life Harriet the Spy in The Case of the Abandoned "Dear Taylor" Letters and Broken Dreams. Kylee is 44-years-old.
A teen superstar not reading her own fan mail is one thing because duh, ain't nobody got time for that. But just trashing them like a guy she just dated is basically murder in the first degree and suspect number one is T-Swift.
After delving deeper into the mystery, though, it appears she's in the clear. Taylor's got an alibi.
"Taylor gets thousands of fan letters everyday and they are delivered to her management office," a spokesperson for Taylor says. "After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled."
Furthermore, "The only explanation for any letters being unopened would be that a small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling center. …We plan to immediately pick up the mail."
So to conclude, the letters will be taken out of the trash, read by somebody (not Taylor Swift), then taken to be rightfully destroyed yet again. Mystery solved!
